Busy bee in February // Victoria & Kelowna Photography

February has started off to be one busy month. Work, travel, shoots, editing.. more editing and planning up coming shoots.

I was lucky enough to finally work with Jaime, from "InspirationALL Talent & Modelling Group" & shoot it on a SUNNY, yes SUNNY afternoon in Victoria. I was super happy with the test shoot we did and am hoping to work with her again very soon (more photos to come soon!).

Last Friday I travelled over to Vancouver with my friend Berkley for the day, walked around Gastown, visited a friend & eventually ventured off on our own later that day. It was BC's first "Family Day" so I got away and went back up to Peachland for the long weekend. I am really lucky to be able to travel back and forth to the Okanagan a lot to see friends and family, and any chance I can get away for the weekend I do, who doesn't enjoy that? I was really looking forward to this trip especially because I got a chance to connect with a few new faces to help me out with photo shoots. I am in LOVE, and I mean in LOVE with, Dragon Fly and Amber Gallery, in Peachland. They carry the most unique, ecentric & BEAUTIFUL jewellery from all over the world, and almost any time I visit up there I splurge and buy a piece from Margaret's store. I had to pleasure to set up a shoot involving a well known line she carries, Ayala Bar, and had a great team to help me out. Amelia/Sheleah/Alyssa/ & Leanne did a phenomenal job at helping me the day of the shoot. Very excited to show everyone the photos in the upcoming week.xx

On route to Vancouver / loving the street art! PLUS I picked up my Grandparents old Kodak Camera in Kelowna. SERIOUSLY cant wait to get it cleaned up, and in use. VERY EXCITED =)

Monday's are the best right!? For me it was !! I FINALLY got my NEW Canon 5d Mark ii !! This was an impulse buy but hey IT'S SO WORTH IT! So excited to see how my images look compared to the 7D I have. Also, Im super tempted to buy some studio lighting... mmmm, getting idea's. xx

I finally got a chance to go back to my school, Western Academy of Photography, to finish up some of my printing I had to do. Updated my fashion portfolio and also wanted to update my room with some of my pieces from last year's concerts I shot. In July of 2012 I got a chance to photograph, "Rock The Shores". It was an outdoor concert here on the island with acts like, "Jets Over Head" / "Current Swell" / "Sam Roberts" & "The Tragically Hip". It was my very first real concert and was amazed to met such amazing/talented and supportive  photographers there. September 2012 brought me to go over to Vancouver to, The Vogue Theatre to shoot up-coming rap sensation "Big Sean", who's known for collaborating with Nicki Minaj/Kanye West & Justin Bieber. And finally to finish off 2012 Metric came to Victoria. There I also got to meet up some of the photographers from the "Rock The Shores". Im thrilled to finally have some of my photography printed and hung up for everyone to see !!

Mystic Beach with the Family // Victoria Photography

I was SO SO SO EXCITED to have my cousin Leanne, and her boyfriend come to the island... FINALLY. The last time she was here was over 10 years ago, so it's been a little long over due. It was really nice to have family come and visit because it got me and my sister out and about doing tourist activities on the island. It was a jam packed weekend with walking in the inner harbour/seeing the seals at "Fisherman's Wharf"/IMAX/driving along Dallas Road/breakfast at JAM CAFE (which is the best breakfast in Victoria, its a must !! ) and finally drove up island to, Mystic Beach. My sister and I really wanted to show them around and enjoy what the coast has to offer. We've never been to Mystic Beach before but heard it was BEAUTIFUL, waterfalls.. and PURPLE SAND. The 2km felt like it took forever as there was roots/mud and more mud everywhere, but luckily us islanders brought our trusty rain boots (finally bought a pair of Hunters, came in very handy!). We got to the beach and everyone was in awe. It was GORGEOUS. The sun came out and we just sat there soaking up the view. The weekend was so much fun, and makes me really wanna explore the island more and enjoy where we live. CAN'T WAIT till they come back! WHAO. LOVE MY FAMILY!
